A ski holiday in Austria: a complete change of scenery! The country boasts around sixty nature parks and five national parks. The wildlife includes over 30,000 species: chamois, marmots, jackdaws, and ibex inhabit the alpine environment. The Alps cover two-thirds of the country, and the highest peak is the Grossglockner (3,797 m). There are 700 peaks over 3,000 m. The state of Tyrol and its capital, Innsbruck, are located in the west. The local culture there is quite distinctive, with rich traditions and folklore, particularly songs.

The Silvretta massif is part of the Rhaetian Alps, the eastern region of Tyrol, on the border between Austria and Switzerland. It stretches across the Inn and Trisana valleys, covering an area of 771 km², with kilometers of ski runs. Its highest peak, Piz Linard, at 3,411 meters, is composed primarily of crystalline rock. It's a paradise for winter sports such as freeride touring and ski touring. The mountain huts and the hospitality here are renowned for being among the warmest in the Alps.
