Which trip suits my level?
The stay in Val d’Isère, from a weekend to a week, is the most accessible: 2/5 for both skiing and fitness. On seventeen of our trips, the technical level is 3/5 (at ease off-piste and in deep snow), with a fitness level of 2/5 in Japan, Kazakhstan, Sestriere, Chile, Whistler, Jackson Hole and the Dolomites, and 3/5 in Lofoten, Iceland, the Tyrol, around Mont Blanc, in the Kaçkar, Greenland, Svalbard, Bodø and Antarctica; in the Lyngen Alps, allow 3 to 6 hours of climbing a day. In Nepal, you need to be a strong, self-reliant off-piste skier. To check where you stand: your off-piste skiing level and your ski touring fitness level.
When does each trip run?
From early to mid-December, the Altai, in Kazakhstan; from mid-January to early February, Hokkaido; every Saturday from January to April, the Kaçkar, in Turkey; in March, Lofoten and the Lyngen Alps; in March and April, the Bodø Alps and the Annapurnas, in Nepal; in April, Iceland; in April and May, Greenland; in late May, Svalbard; in July and August, the Chilean Andes; in November and December, Antarctica. In Jackson Hole the season runs from December to April, in the Tyrol from November to May, in Val d’Isère from late November to early May and in Whistler from 15 December; for our other trips, we set the dates with you.
Which trip for €5,000 per person?
Excluding flights, four of our trips come in under €5,000: the week of ski touring in Lofoten (from €3,500), Hokkaido for 8 or 9 days (from €3,950), the Dolomites (from €3,950) and the Tyrol (from €4,500). Just above, Kazakhstan and Mont Blanc start at €5,950. Val d’Isère and Whistler are priced on request.
Which trip for a first taste of heli skiing?
Sestriere, in Italy: you go heli skiing there for a weekend or a week, 20 km from the French border, with one to four drops a day, in a small group with your guide. The fitness level needed is 2/5, and you should already ski with ease off-piste and in deep snow (3/5). For a whole week, the Kaçkar, in Turkey, or heli ski touring in Iceland, which pairs the helicopter with the climb on skins; every package is on our heli skiing page.
Are flights included in the prices?
No, our prices are quoted excluding flights. Each trip page sets out what is included on the ground, which varies with the destination: transfers, meals, nights on board, helicopter drops or lift passes.
What does “on request” mean in the table?
We set those details with you: the dates, arranged around your group, or the price, worked out for the package and the number of skiers. Tell us which trip you have in mind and when you would like to go, and we’ll reply within 24 hours.
