SKIING IN JAPAN:
Exploring the Hokkaido region
Located south of the Russian islands of Sakhalin and Kuril, Hokkaido is the northernmost and wildest island in the Japanese archipelago. Due to its proximity to Siberia, snowfall is very frequent, making it undoubtedly the best area for ski touring in Japan. Every freeride skier should experience the Japanese powder at least once in their life!
Thanks to this freeride ski touring safari in Japan, you'll experience an incredible immersion in nature and culture. A perfect blend of tradition and modernity, you'll discover the island of Hokkaido through its local specialties, cuisine, and geothermal hot springs (onsen). You'll especially appreciate the pristine snows of its most beautiful national parks: Yotei-zan, Shikotsu-Toya, and Daisetsuzan. Wild territories still relatively untouched by mass tourism.
SKIING IN JAPAN - TRIP TO HOKKAIDO, NISEKO AND ITS REGION:
Our freeride ski touring safari in Japan includes two main stages. The first part of the trip is organized over 3 days around Mount Yotei (a symmetrical stratovolcano reaching 1,898 m), starting from the famous Japanese winter sports resort of Niseko (south of Sapporo).
The second part of the 4 days will be devoted to discovering the region, with its ski resorts such as Rusutsu and Kiroro, ski touring for backcountry lovers, and optional Kat-Skiing or Heliskiing for thrill-seekers.
To escape the most crowded slopes, ski lifts or skinning uphill will allow us to enjoy numerous exceptional runs in open terrain, in powder that is both light and deep. Depending on the weather conditions, we will either ski through the trees or on volcanic peaks. A blend of freeride skiing and more immersive ski touring , this trip is recommended for people in good physical condition with a solid to expert level of off-piste skiing.

During this freeride ski touring safari in Japan, we have prioritized your après-ski comfort by selecting high-quality, traditional accommodations. You will be staying in a comfortable 3-star Ryokan-style hotel in Niseko, in large rooms for 5 people (single or double rooms available at an additional cost).
At the end of your ski days, you can relax in the onsen, hot springs typical of the region.
before experiencing the finesse and originality of traditional Japanese cuisine. A private minibus will be at your disposal for local transfers.
